Lochside Hotel Wedding Photographer – Susan and Grant’s Day

As an experienced Ayrshire wedding photographer, I frequently get to capture wedding photography at Lochside Hotel. Susan and Grant chose the perfect venue for their summer wedding in Scotland.

Award-winning Lochside Hotel is a luxurious wedding venue that consists of a hotel and spa set in gorgeous mature gardens along the shores of the loch of the Lowes with views across to the Afton Hills. All of which made amazing backdrops in Susan and Grant’s wedding photos.

On the day, I woke to full sunshine and headed over to Lochside Hotel to get those all-important morning of the wedding images. Grant and his grooms party were getting ready in on of Lochside’s impressive lodge’s. The guys were in good spirits and looking very smart in traditional Scottish attire with kilts from Kilts 4 U. I got some great images of them.

I then headed over to one of Lochside Hotel’s bedrooms where Susan was getting ready with her bridal party. Susan looked stunning in a gorgeous fitted lace detail dress with a sweetheart neckline and a straight skirt that gave her an amazing silhouette in all of my images. Susan bought the dress at Brides in the City in Glasgow. Her hair and make-up were immaculate courtesy of Angela Sinclair.

All Scottish wedding photographers will tell you that it’s always nice to meet and work with other professionals in the wedding industry. And this certainly the case with Kev Jacutan who was there to capture the wedding film.

The wedding ceremony was held in Lochside Hotel’s stunning ceremony suite and was conducted by celebrant Lesley Anderson. The suite looked stunning all dressed for the ceremony with décor and flowers by the talented team at Jam Events. After the ceremony there was a fun confetti moment outside. Here, take a look!

Everybody the enjoyed an outside drinks reception. The atmosphere was so chilled and guests were entertained by saxophonist Shades of Sax. This was my favourite part of the day as everybody was so chilled and I got some great images that really suit my style of candid wedding photography.

Whilst Susan and Grant’s guests were happily being catered for, I whisked them away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot around the beautiful gardens of Lochside Hotel. I got some really romantic images that I know Susan and Grant are thrilled with.

The wedding reception was held in Lochview Suite which had been dressed beautifully. Guests were seated first so that Susan and Grant could receive a rapturous welcome.

Everybody enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the talented team of chefs at Lochside Hotel and some very well received speeches. I love capturing the emotion of speeches as it really suits my style of documentary wedding photography.

Afterwards, guests milled about the venue enjoying exclusive and I took the chance to get a couple of images of Susan and Grant in the early evening sunshine. The sun was at its lowest creating a soft hazy glow that gave the images a romantic look and were amongst my favourites of the day.

Evening celebrations were held back in Lochview Suite that had be transformed into the perfect party space. Things started with a romantic first dance for Susan and Grant. Not that they were on the dance floor alone for long. Their guests were really up for a party and award-winning party band Los Perros were there to make sure they got one. And I took some really fun dancefloor images.
